Need a job?

Careercast put together a top 10 out of *200 list of the best and worst jobs in America for 2010. The judgment was based on categories of physical demands, work environment, income, stress, and hiring outlook. Seeing as how three of my close friends run vagrant throughout Long Beach and La Habra, I thought I'd share the good news.
The best job in America appears to be that of an Actuary, someone who guesses at how much money someone else could loose if something bad happens someone. Exciting. The 10th is a Dental Hygienist. Environment was one of the categories, so...I guess balmy, rank orifices make for a great work place. Thank God we're not British am I right? Most of the other top-10-best sound terrifically boring. Number 8? A Statistician. Someone who "Tabulates, analyzes, and interprets the numeric results of experiments and surveys". How titillating. But the worst American jobs in 2010 are way off. A Mail Carrier? (#10) C'mon. You get to beat the hell out of canine, see who ordered the latest edition of no-no stuff, AND blackmail said subscriber to the Mrs. (or Mr.) for vacations in the Bahamas. Rad. A Meter Reader? Again, more beatings of unruly pets AND you get to meander into anyone's back yard at any time. Think of all the crazy crap you'd see! Rad. Construction Worker. Jacked and tan. Rad. Taxi Driver. See dumb drunkies act stooopid and maybe pass out thus leaving you free to drive all over town to bump up the fare. Rad. Garbage Collector. Free stuff. Rad. Welder. Burn things. Rad. Dairy Farmer...farmer's tan...?...yeah. Ironworker. Use powerful hand tools, get jacked and tan. Double rad. Lumberjack. Grow a gnarly beard, chop things, get jacked and tan. Triple rad.
But the worst job in America in 2010, apparently, is a Roustabout, someone who does routine maintenance on oil rigs out at sea or something. If you go to the cite, the description does sound pretty awful. But still, you're out at sea. Um, hello, it's the OCEAN! Why wasn't there an excitement, adventure, or jacked and tan category in the list? Who doesn't want to be awesome? An accountant (#9 best) that's who. Snooze alert.
Jobs that didn't make the 10's lists? Freelance Whatever, Waiting For An Inheritance, and Over Sized Graphic T-Shirt Designer.

Hey Ball-Chode,Two Daileys Dairy Farm sounds very marketable.
Oh and Dan, you'd make that Brawny guy look like Peter Pan in drag.

*Teaching got 116th bookend-ed by Office Machine Repair and Sewage Plant Operator.

  1. Even though you only used the word RAD 8 times - it felt like a LOT more. :)
